Thursday services planned for Scottie Bruton

Funeral services for Scottie M. Bruton, 72, of Cairo, Ga., are at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Cairo.  The Rev. Carl Harrell and the Rev. Lindsey Gay will officiate.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo. Mrs. Bruton passed away in Cairo on Monday, July 8, 2013.
Active pallbearers will be: Walt Butler, Connor Butler, Drew Pyrz, Steve Reagan, Wallace Cox, and Michael Best.
Mrs. Bruton was born on Nov. 8, 1940, in Cairo to the late Aaron Bartley Thomas and Leatha Wilson Thomas. On June 23, 2007, she married Richard Bruton, who survives. Mrs. Bruton was a retired dental assistant. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Cairo, and the Lydia Sunday School Class.
She is survived by: her husband, Richard Bruton of Cairo, Ga.; children and spouses, Kerry and Patty Dinkins of Cairo, Keith Dinkins of Cairo, and Greg and Lisa Bruton of Gastonia, N.C.; grandchildren and spouses, Laramee and Matt Nicholson of Cairo, Logan Dinkins of Cairo, Lindsey Bruton of Baton Rouge, La., Drew Bruton of Gastonia, Meagan and Cameron Bearden of Brandon, Fla.; sister, EllaRea Daniels of Vernon, Fla.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Aaron Bartley Thomas and Leatha Wilson Thomas; brothers, Lendell Eugene Thomas, Olney Lloyd Thomas, Gordon Aaron Thomas, Roy Kelsey Thomas and Alton Lafayette Thomas; sister, Carrie Sue Thomas.
Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Bruton to First Baptist Church (Covered Entrance Fund), 702 North Broad Street, P. O. Box 1538, Cairo, GA 39828.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m.
Clark Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
