County Administrator Rusty Moye

Memorial services for Russell Craig “Rusty” Moye, 64, of Cairo, GA, will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church of Cairo.  Rev. Rick Turner will officiate.  Mr. Moye passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Thursday, September 27, 2012.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Mason, Jim Ellis, Tony Morning, Harry Young and the Grady County Department Heads.   
Mr. Moye was born on September 26, 1948, at Eglin Air Force Base, Okaloosa County, FL, to the late W. D. and Norma Claire Morey Moye.  Rusty was a member of the 1966 graduating class of Cairo High School.  On September 8, 1967, he married Mary Patricia Childs “Patsy” Moye, who survives.  Rusty served his country in the United States Navy.  In 1974, he graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Agricultural Engineering.   Rusty was the County Administrator of Grady County, Georgia and was a member of Cairo First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Patsy Moye of Cairo, GA;  sons and daughter-in-law, Matthew P. Moye of Cairo, GA, Russell C. and Christina C. Moye of Albany, GA;  grandchildren, H. Ryker Moye of Albany, GA, Vivian Baylor Moye of Albany, GA; brothers, William R. Moye of Panama City, FL, Steven K. Moye of Cairo, GA, Mark A. Moye of Cairo, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen E. and Donald Palmer of Pelham, GA, Ronnie M. and Curtis Lashley of Cairo, GA, Celeste M. and Miguel Hernandez of Woodville, FL; mother-in-law, Vivian Childs of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.   
Rusty was preceded in death by his parents, W. D. and Norma Claire Moye.
