Applications are available for Grady Co. Sports Hall of Fame

Grady County has several men and women who through the years have made significant contributions to our community and communities in other areas. During their years here in Cairo and Grady County, many of these people participated in high school sports that helped lay the foundation for successful years in college, careers in the business world, and as important influences in their community. The Grady County Sports Hall of Fame would like to recognize these individuals for their many important accomplishments throughout their lives. However, their nomination is dependent on the people who knew them best. Relatives, co-workers, classmates and neighbors are encouraged to nominate these individuals to the Hall of Fame.
To be eligible for induction into the Sports Hall of Fame, the person must be at least 40 years of age, a past participant in Grady County sports, and an individual whose life provided a positive role model in our community. In addition, the person must meet one of the following criteria: must have attended school in Grady County, or be a native of Grady County, or lived in Grady County for a sufficient length of time to be considered a permanent resident of the county.
Applications for the 2012 Induction of the Grady County Sports Hall of Fame are now available and may be picked up at the Cairo/Grady County Chamber of Commerce and Cairo High School.
