Funeral service for Gene Sellars is Friday

Services for Gene “Mole” Sellars, 65, of Ochlocknee, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 7, 2011, at Thomasville First Baptist Church, Thomasville, GA, with Rev. Gary Milton officiating.  Burial will be in Barnetts Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Ochlocknee, GA.  Mr. Sellars passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA.
Active pallbearers will be Jet Cox, Chris Prine, Jim Prine, Al Collins, D. L. Scoggins, Earl Stuckey, Terry McRae and Tommy Patel.
Mr. Sellars was born on August 23 1945, in Cairo, Georgia, to the late Clarence Eugene Sellars and Margaret Horton Sellars, who survives. He married Jackie Reagan Sellars on January 17, 1964.  He was retired from law enforcement and as a radio personality.  He was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church.  
Survivors include: wife, Jackie Reagan Sellars of Ochlocknee, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Dan Stewart of Ochlocknee, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Donna Sellars of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan Stewart of Ochlocknee, GA, Christina Sellars of Thomasville, GA, Austin Sellars of Thomasville, GA; sister-in-law, Cheryl Sellars of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and mother, Margaret Horton Sellars of Thomasville, GA;  a niece, Shannon Sellars of Tallahassee, FL..    
Mr. Sellars was preceded in death by: father, Clarence Eugene (C. E.) Sellars; granddaughter, Danielle Stewart; and brother, Jerry Sellars.     
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
