Ruby Lea Hammett dead at 79

Services for Ruby Lee Hammett, 79, of Tallahassee, FL, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the Pine Hill Baptist Church.  Rev. Karen Pellett will officiate.   The family will receive friends after the service in the Fellowship Hall.  Mrs. Hammett passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Broadview Assisted Living in Tallahassee. 
Pallbearers will be Hansel Butler, James Butler, Wayne Oates, John Mitchell, Louis Butler and Walter Butler.
Mrs. Hammett was born in Quincy, FL on June 8, 1930, to the late Homer Brown and Bernice Singletary Brown. She married Herbert Leon Hammett on July 13, 1956.   He preceded her in death on April 5, 2004.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.   Being a strong Christian, she believed in the power of prayer.   Mrs. Hammett was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodville, FL.  
Survivors include: daughter, Stacey L. Crawford of Tallahassee, Fl; granddaughter, Sarah L. Crawford of Tallahassee, FL; sister, Margret Miller of Cairo, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buddy and Doris Brown of Woodville, FL, Roy and Cynthia Brown of Crawfordville, FL, Randy and Florence Brown of Whigham, GA; several nieces and nephews. 
Memorials can be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Boulevard, Tallahassee, FL  32308.
