Services for Emory Brian Stone, 67, of Climax, GA, are at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Whigham United Methodist Church, Whigham, GA.  Rev. Garth Duke-Barton and Rev. Charles Whatley will officiate.  The family will receive friends after the service in the Fellowship Hall. 
Active pallbearers will be Terry Logue, Cecil Gibbs, Embree Robinson, Ricky Stone, Ridgeway Stone, Kevin Harcourt, Emmett Brock and Barry Strickland.  Honorary pallbearers will be Scott McAdams, Billy Joyce, Shannon Hendrixson, and Robbie Palmer.
Mr. Stone was born on November 12, 1942, in Enterprise, AL, to the late Emory Booker Stone, Jr. and Mary Margaret Pierson Stone.  He served his country in the USMC Reserves.   He worked with the Whigham Post Office and was a member of the Whigham United Methodist Church.  He was a long-time aviator who participated in numerous aerial application contracts for the U. S. Department of Agriculture.  Throughout the 1960’s, he flew as a Pilot-in-Command for Ralco Corp. eradicating fire ants, grass hoppers and spruce bud worms from Georgia to New Mexico and as far north as Maine.  Mr. Stone also spent several years as an electrician’s assistant doing commercial wiring installation.  Throughout his life, Brian was the consummate woodsman. He lived in a remote, secluded area of Decatur County, Georgia, communing with nature and wildlife close-up and personal.  His closest friends were members of a hunting club formed on his farm near Attapulgus, GA.
Survivors include: his sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Johnny Carrouth of Cairo, GA; his step-mother, Gertrude Stone of Whigham, GA; nieces and nephews.  
Mr. Stone was preceded in death by his parents, E. B. and Margaret Stone.
