R.W. “Bob” Bussey Sr. graveside service is Saturday
Graveside memorial services for Robert “Bob” Weyman Bussey, Sr., will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the Cairo Cemetery, Cairo, GA. He passed away February 16, 2010 in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Bob was born in Cairo, GA on November 5, 1929, son of the late Peyton and Eunice Bussey. Bob was a member of the Cairo High School State Championship Football Team 1946. He was also the recipient of the coveted Eagle Scout award. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1952 and served in the US Army Signal Corps as a liaison pilot during the Korean War. He continued his love of flying for many years. Bob went to work with Florida Power and Light upon graduation serving as an engineer, district and division manager, and retired in 1988. Some of his fondest memories were the years spent in the Glades from 1960-1973. While in the Glades he was President of Rotary Club and an active member of Community United Methodist Church.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Dale. He is survived by his three sons, Weyman, Ben (Jacki) and Bill (Margarita) and daughter, Beth; sisters, Lois Strickland and Elva Scholes; brother, Clayton Bussey; eight grandchildren, Laelia (Damien) Banks, Jay (Julie) Price, Robert, Dustin, Nikolas, Peyton, Parker, and Alec and great-granddaughter, Ceci Banks, the apple of his eye. Also, his extended family of Nora and Henry Ugalde and Mayra and Angel Echenique. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be truly missed by them all.
