Joseph F. Cox to be buried Tuesday

Services for Joseph “Joe” Franklin Cox, 91, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Pine Level Baptist Church, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Jim Weaver will officiate with burial to follow in Mizpah Cemetery.  Mr. Cox passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Grady General Hospital.
Active pallbearers will be Kevin Harrison, Dusty Norton, Mike Law, Chris Scarbrough, Benjamin Law and William Scarbrough.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Harrell, Roland Waldron, Eldron Whigham, Wendell Prince, Wallace Sholar and Royce Prince.
Mr. Cox was born on May 15, 1918, in Cairo, Georgia, to the late William Levy Cox and Ollie McCrory Cox.  He was a retired paint contractor.     
Survivors include: wife, Arselma Billette Cox of Cairo, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and J. W. Harrison of Cairo, GA; Teresa and Charlie Norton of Cairo, GA; grandchildren and spouses, Kevin Harrison of Cairo, GA, Denine H. and Mike Law of Franklin, TN, Dawn and Chris Scarbrough of Pelham, GA, Dusty and April Norton of Valdosta, GA, Tiffany Norton of Athens, GA; great-grandchildren, Hayden Harrison of Conrad, TX, Jamie Harrison of Opp, AL, Haleigh Harrison of Conrad, TX, Benjamin Law of Franklin, TN, Harrison Law of Franklin, TN, John Michael Law of Franklin, TN and William Scarbrough of Pelham, GA.    
Mr. Cox was preceded in death by: an infant son; his parents, William Levy and Ollie Cox; his brothers, Marcus Cox, Lloyd Cox; and sisters, Louise Brady, Jeanette Wilder.
