It’s official… Syrupmakers will not face Bulldogs

Cairo High School has released its 2010 football schedule. Region 1-AAA has a new look with Peach County and Perry High School leaving the region, replaced by the addition of Americus High School. Cairo now has six region games and four nonregion games. This year’s schedule will feature five games at home and five away.
The Syrupmakers open at home on Aug. 27 against Drew High School, then play Bainbridge on the road Sept. 3. Cairo will be back at home on Sept. 10 to play Jordan High School and then travel to Thomas County Central on Sept. 17.
The Syrupmakers open the 2010 region schedule at home against Monroe on Sept. 24, but will be open on Oct. 1. Cairo then plays at home against Dougherty High School on Oct. 8, with Worth County in Sylvester on Oct. 15, and back home for the final home game of the regular season on Oct. 22 against Westover. Cairo’s two final games will be region games on the road, traveling to Crisp County on Oct. 29 and Americus on Nov. 5.
Gone from the 2010 schedule is nonregion rival Thomasville. Due to a scheduling conflict of available dates between the two schools, a possible date to play could not be found.
