Syrupmakers escape Cougar’s Den with 14-7 win

Lequinton Williams finds plenty of room to run as the offensive line opens up a huge hole in the Crisp County defense.
The Syrupmakers gave up a Cougar touchdown before half which cut the lead to 14-7. The Cairo defense held Crisp County in check in the second half as the Maker offense struggled with three turnovers, all in the Cougar redzone. Cairo also had a touchdown called back on a block in the back inthe second half as well.
The Cairo defense had a blocked punt and three interceptions . The Maker offense had an interception and two fumbles all in the second half.
With the win, Cairo locks up second place in region 1-AAA and will face Westover next Friday night for Homecoming and Senior Night. The Syrupmakers are now assured a first round home playoff game the following week.
