Syrupmakers post big win over Perry

BRIAN WALKER drives for extra yardage Friday night in Cairo’s win over the Perry Panthers. The Syrupmakers hit the road again Friday to take on the Crisp County Cougars.

The Cairo Syrupmakers picked up another big region win and improved their record to 5-3 overall and 4-1 in region play with a 26-7 win over the Perry Panthers. Cairo scored in each of the four quarters for the win.
The Syrupmakers scored on touchdowns by Quinton Jones, Miguel Smiley, Brian Walker and Scooby Bodiford.  The defense was well on their way to another shutout when a bad snap on a punt gave the ball to the Panthers inside the Syrupmaker 10 yard line and pass interference on third down gave the Panthers a first in goal at the 2 yard line. The Perry quarterback then called his own number and slipped in for the Panthers only score of the night.
Cairo now travels to Crisp County Friday night for another region game.
