Syrupmakers wallop Rams

The Cairo Syrupmakers defeated the Worth County Rams Friday night in Cairo 33-6. The Makers took a 7-0 lead on the opening play of their game as Chris Admas returned the kickoff 96 yards for a Cairo touchdown.  Trevor Moncrief’s extra point made the score 7-0 with just :14 off the clock.
 Moncrief then added to Cairo’s lead with a 26 yard field goal and the Makers also scored on a 64 yard pass from Brain Walker to Chris Adams, a 6 yard run by Walker, and a touchdown pass from Walker to Scooby Bodiford. Moncrief connected on all the extra points and Cairo lead 31-0 at the half.
 Cairo added a safety in the second half when the Worth Co. punt snap went over the punter’s head and out of the back of the endzone.  Worth County scored a touchdown late and the Makers won their third game of the season and the are undefeated in region play at 2-0.
 Cairo will travel to Peach County next Friday night for a big region showdown.
