Sunday services planned for Daniel Warren Kines, Sr.

Services for Daniel Warren Kines, Sr., 70, of Albany, Georgia, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, Georgia.  Rev. Bruce Smith will officiate.  Interment will follow in Cairo Cemetery, Cairo, Georgia, with full military honors.  Active pallbearers will be from the USMC Honor Guard and honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Kines, Robert Lawrence, Chris Kines, Clark Kines, Josh Kines and Jimmie Durrence, Jr.  Mr. Kines passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2009, at Palmyra Medical Centers in Albany, Georgia.
Born March 10, 1939, in Rome, Georgia, he was a son of Rosa Lee Perkins Kines and the late Carl T. Kines.  He was a retired Gunnery Sergeant from the United States Marine Corp, serving in Viet Nam from 1968 – 1969.  After retirement he worked in materials management.  He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Leesburg, Georgia, past President of Quail Country Chapter – APICS, Albany, Georgia.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Faye Kines, Albany, Georgia;  his mother, Rosa Perkins Kines, Cairo, Georgia; his sons, Daniel W. Kines, Jr., Los Angeles, California and Michael E. Kines, Thomasville, Georgia; his daughters, Cheryl S. Verran, Thomasville, Georgia and Kimberly D. Lanning, Marietta, Georgia;  step-children, Jennifer Burke, Lawrenceville, Georgia and Joshua Rowell, Albany, Georgia;  grandchildren, Matthew Kines, Brandon Scheiber and Phillip Miller all of Thomasville, Georgia, Kayla, Shelly and Sam Duren, Marietta, Georgia;  his siblings, Jerry Kines, Cairo, Georgia, Carleen Dyson, Whigham, Georgia, Sara E. Pettis, Valdosta, Georgia, Tom Kines, Cairo, Georgia, Bob Kines, Jacksonville, Florida, Rick Kines, Cairo, Georgia, Tim Kines, Whigham, Georgia and Sam Kines, Cairo, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl T. Kines, a grandson Daniel W. Kines, III and a brother, Cpl. Edward W. Kines, U.S.M.C.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at Clark Funeral Home.
