Services planned for Carolyn E. Kimmons

Memorial Services for Carolyn Edwena Kimmons, 68, of Ochlocknee, Ga., are to be held on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home in Cairo, Ga. The Rev. Wendell Hollingsworth will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.
Mrs. Kimmons died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at her daughter’s residence in Pavo, Ga., after an extended illness.
Born Jan. 15, 1941, in Cairo, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Cord Stephany Johnson and Ruby Lee Strickland Blackshear. She was a hostess at the Plaza Restaurant for many years.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Bryan Strickland, Pavo, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Dawn May, Rocky Face, Ga.; a granddaughter, Heather Maresa Strickland, Pavo, Ga.; grandsons, Brandon Lindsey, Tallahassee, Fla., Brice Gilmer, Boston, Ga., Cameron May, Rocky Face, Ga.; a great-granddaughter, Kinsley Gilmer, Boston, Ga.; a host of uncles, aunts and cousins; a best friend, Carolyn Williams, Adel, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lamar Kimmons; her father, Cord Stephany Johnson and her mother, Ruby Lee Strickland Blackshear.
