Passing clinic to be held here

Footballs will be back in the air this week as Cairo High School hosts its second annual Georgia-Florida Passing League. The event will take place this Thursday, July 23, at 9 a.m. at CHS.
“Everyone enjoyed last year’s camp. It’s not a competition, it’s more of a practice day and gives coaches a chance to do some things in game-like situations,” said CHS assistant coach Tommy York.
Four teams from Georgia are scheduled to attend including Cairo, Thomasville, Thomas County Central and Bainbridge. So far, two teams from Florida have committed to attend, Wakulla and East Gadsden High School. Cairo is hoping to get two more teams from Florida in time for the event.
Each Georgia school is scheduled to throw against each Florida school in 40 minute segments. “The good thing about the passing camp is, it gives you the opportunity to put the ball where ever you want and treat it like game situations,” said Cairo head coach Tom Fallaw. This will be a great opportunity for Cairo’s new signal caller, senior Brian Walker. “Giving Brian a chance to see some coverages and just throwing the ball will be good for him,” added Fallaw.
