Funeral services for Delores Strickland are Thursday

Services for Delores Sullivan Strickland, 73, of Calvary, are at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church, Calvary, Ga., where she was a member. The Rev. Christopher Hammock and the Rev. Jim Weaver will officiate. Interment will be in Piedmont Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Robbie McFadden, Jeremy Cliett, Steven Tillery, Matthew Cliett, Brian Blair and Lex Coleman.  
Mrs. Strickland died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Ga.
Born Jan. 3, 1936, in Tallahassee, Fla., she was a daughter of the late J. E. and Maggie Lee Newton Sullivan. She was married to Elmer Lanier Strickland, who preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 2009.
Mrs. Strickland is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Lex Coleman and Lynn Alfes, all of Calvary, Renee and Bob Bryan of Seward, Alaska; grandchildren, Jeremy Cliett of Calvary, Misty Blair of Cairo, Steven Tillery of Ocala, Fla., Robert McFadden of Graniteville, S.C., Matthew Cliett of Augusta, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Austin Smith of Cairo, Greyson Blair of Cairo, Rachel Blair of Thomasville, Kendall Blair of Cairo, Austen Blair of Thomasville, Bailey Cliett of Augusta, Kyle Satcher and Zowie Tillery, both of Smithville, Tenn., and Malon McFadden of Graniteville, S.C.; a twin sister, Dorothy Hyde, N.C., and sisters, Geraldine Gilbert, Beech Island, S.C., and Ruby Sullivan, Tallahassee, Fla.; brother-in-law and sisters in law, Lamar (Mildred) Strickland, Calvary, Jerry Driggers, Orange Park, Fla., and Dale (Bruce) Herig, Snellville, Ga.  
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Lanier Strickland; and her  parents, J. E. and Maggie Lee Newton Sullivan.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 22, 2009, from 6 until 8 p.m.
