Services planned for Charlie Ezell

Mr. Charlie Ezell died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Grady General Hospital, Cairo, Ga. Services will be Thursday, July 2, 2009, 3 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church, Cairo, Ga. The Rev. Dr. Paul Jones will officiate. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Whigham, Ga.
Ronnie Ezell, Tim Ezell, Danny Ezell, John Cook, Pete Ezell, Bobby Collins, Frank Pritchett and David Ezell will serve as pallbearers. Tommy Voyles, Avon Ezell and the deacons of Eastside Baptist Church, and Keenagers group from Eastside will serve as honorary pallbearers. 
Charlie Ezell was born July 4, 1927, in Whigham, Ga., to Noah and Maggie Butler Ezell. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Charlie drove a truck for Mixon Milling Company; retiring after 43 years. Mr. Ezell was an active member of Eastside Baptist Church where he served many years on the Deacon Board, as an usher, was a member of the Happy Christians Sunday School Class and was a member of the Keenagers.   
Charlie is survived by his sons, Dennis and wife Lois Ezell of Meigs and Charles and wife Brenda Ezell of Cairo; brother, Emmett and wife Mary Ezell of Cairo; grandchildren, Jessie Pricilla and husband John McGregor of Pooler, Ga., Charlie Richard and wife Misty Ezell of Meigs, Christopher Lee Burdette of Cairo and Brittney Ann Aque of Ocilla, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Suzanne Carol Ezell of Cairo, Jason Richard Earl Ezell and Nikki Nicole Lois Ezell of Meigs, Ga., Jonathon Aque and Rachel Aque of Ocilla, Ga.; sister-in-law, Frances Ezell of Cairo; cousins, Wendell and wife Annette Ezell, Jerome and wife Martha Ezell, and Danny and wife Lenora Ezell, all of Cairo. He was preceded in death his wife Pat Ezell; parents, Noah and Maggie Ezell; and brother, DeWitt Ezell. 
Visitation will be Wednesday, 5-7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Cairo.
