The Cairo Syrupmaid softball team is having a very busy summer. The team is playing every Tuesday and Thursday at Cairo High School. “We have been able to get some valuable playing time in this summer, and we have used a lot of our younger girls to give them some experience, as well,” said CHS coach Amy Hagan. Cairo graduated several key players and Hagan said every position is up for grabs as players work to make the starting line up.
The team plays twice a week against area teams and will continue throughout the summer before the start of the 2009 season. Area teams are coming in to take on the Maids each week.
