Baseball team to scrimmage Friday
The Cairo Syrupmaker baseball team will play a scrimmage game against Lowndes County this Friday at Cairo High School. Though the game is just a preseason scrimmage game it will be like a regular seven inning game said coach Ron Best. “We’re biting off a lot here playing a team like Lowndes, but it will be good for us,” said coach Best.
Cairo will open the season next week in Bainbridge with a tournament against Northview on Tuesday, Marianna on Wednesday, Bainbridge on Friday, and Early County on Saturday. All games will be played at Bainbridge High School.
Friday’s scrimmage with Lowndes will begin at Cairo High School’s Jackie Robinson Field at 6 p.m.
