Bus service available for both fans and students

For Cairo High School students who want to attend but don’t have a ride, CHS is sponsoring two student buses. These buses are for CHS students only, no adults, and no middle school, or elementary students will be allowed to ride.
The cost is $15 for the ticket, and $5 to help cover transportation expenses. The buses will be supervised by CHS teachers and are on a first come, first served basis.
“We wanted to give our students a way to the game, so some of our teachers volunteered to ride the buses to the game,” said CHS Principal David McCurry.
For fans, there are at least three transportation opportunities available: Cairo High School, Cloud Funeral Home and Faye Cooper Williams have all chartered buses and are selling seats. In each case, ticket prices cover transportation only. Game tickets and food costs must be covered by the individual.
Cairo High School sold out one bus of 56 seats by Tuesday morning, so a second bus was added. Tickets are $38 per person, and may be purchased through the high school. These buses will leave from the CHS front parking lot at 10 a.m. Saturday, and will return to Cairo after the Syrupmaker game ends. The buses will make one stop enroute to Atlanta for lunch. For more information call the school at 229-377-2222.
Ms. Faye Cooper Williams has chartered a 56-seat bus, and is selling tickets for $38 per person. Reservations and payment must be made by Thursday. This bus is leaving from the Davis Park Swimming Pool parking lot behind Roddenbery Memorial Library at 10 a.m., Saturday, and returning to Cairo at the conclusion of the Syrupmaker game. For more information contact Ms. Williams at 229-377-2733.
Cloud and Son Funeral Home has also chartered a bus for fans who want to watch more than one football game. Seats are being sold for $40 per person on a first come, first served basis. This bus leaves from Cloud and Son Funeral Home, 198 MLK Jr. Blvd, at 8 a.m., Saturday, with a planned arrival time at the Georgia Dome of 1 p.m. The bus will leave the Dome at 9 p.m., with expected arrival time back in Cairo of 1 a.m., Sunday. Deadline to purchase tickets is noon, Thursday, Dec. 11. For more information contact the funeral home at 229-377-3592.
