Cairo hits the road Friday

The Patriots come into Friday night’s battle against the Makers with a 5-4 mark overall and 2-4 in region play, including a big win last week over Worth County. The Patriots made it to the third round of the state playoffs last season, the best ever for a Patriot team.
“They had a late charge last season and are looking to do the same this year. Westover had a big win over Worth last week, and I know they want to finish strong. As I say every week, we’ve got to come out and put them away early and not give them a chance to stay in the game,” said Cairo coach Tom Fallaw.
The Patriots have several Division One prospects including two very good looking wide receivers. On the defensive side the of the ball, the Patriots return several players in the secondary and defensive line.
Friday night’s game with the Westover Patriots will kick off at 7:30 p.m. at Hugh Mills Stadium and will be broadcast on WGRA-AM 790.
