Funeral services for Ila D. Owens set for Wednesday

Services for Ila Dozier Owens, 83, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Capel Baptist Church, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Robert Crapps will officiate with burial to follow in Capel Cemetery.  Mrs. Owens passed away on Monday, April 19, 2010, at Camellia Gardens, Thomasville, GA.
Active pallbearers will be Robert Donalson, Eric Colvin, John Rich, Jerry Maxwell, Tim Watson and Marty Powe.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Board of Deacons of Capel Baptist Church, Johnny Hudson, Johnny Hurst, Keith Sandefur and Dr. Thomas K. Leggett, Jr.
Mrs. Owens was born February 9, 1927, in LaFeria, TX, to the late Coss Lee and Jannie Lucille Powe Dozier.  She was a crossing guard for the City of Cairo.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jimmy Cook, Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Tammy Donalson (Robert), Thomasville, GA, Sherry Colvin (Eric), Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Donalson, Thomasville, GA, Taylor Lee Donalson, Thomasville, GA, Kaitlyn Leigh Donalson, Thomasville, GA, Landon Carter Colvin, Cairo, GA and Dakota Landry Colvin, Cairo, GA; a host of nieces and nephews; sister, Vera Hunter, Cairo, GA.
Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by: her husband, Kiah Thomas Owens; parents Coss Lee and Jannie Lucille Dozier, 13 brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Clark Funeral Home.
