Due to weather concerns later this week, the planned painting of a mural honoring Jackie Robinson at Cairo High School has been rescheduled to mid-July. The new date to paint the mural is July 14-15 at the baseball field on the C.H.S. campus.
The Jackie Robinson mural is a project between both the University of Georgia Lamar Dodd School of Art and C.H.S. art students as part of the college’s “Color the World Bright” mural program, which is under the direction of the renowned professor Dr. Joe Norman.
Volunteer painters are still welcomed to join the effort and should email Grady County’s Archway professional, Whitney Brannen at Whitney.Brannen@uga.edu for more information.
