G.B.I. agent says lawmen are on the right track with Herring shooting

The May 10 shooting death of Derrick Herring of Cairo remains unsolved as of Tuesday night, but authorities report they are on the right track.
Jamy Steinberg, G.B.I. special agent in charge, stated Tuesday, “we do feel we are making positive progress. We continue actively working this case with Cairo (Police).”
Cairo Police discovered Herring’s death around 1:30 a.m., Monday, May 10, when they investigated a report of shots being fired. Herring was found lying on the roadside in the 800 block of Eighth Street, N.W.
