Grady County native opens new primary care center

Weaver Medical Center, a primary care facility started by Grady County native Dr. Mary Weaver, is inviting the community to an open house next Tuesday, June 15, in celebration of the center’s grand opening.

The open house will be held from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the center, located at 195 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SW. Free basic health screenings, a $25 gift card raffle, and refreshments will be available to attendees.

Dr. Weaver, a 2002 Cairo High School graduate, is the C.E.O. of Weaver Medical Care.

In addition to 13 years of healthcare experience in administration and pharmacy, Weaver holds a doctorate in public health from Georgia Southern University.

“Our top priority is caring for you and making sure that you receive the care you need when you need it,” Dr. Weaver said of her staff.

Personnel includes medical director Dr. Ronald McLean, M.D., staff physician Dr. Willie Adams, M.D., nurse practitioner Joanne Hembree, R.N. and M.S.N., and Desserita “Renee” Dyson, C.M.A.

Dr. McLean also practices at McClean Cares, which has offices in Albany, Thomasville and Warner Robins, according to Dr. Weaver.

Open since early May, Weaver Medical Care sees patients by appointment only Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with walk-ins accepted as availability permits. The center closes for lunch daily from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The center is also open on Saturdays, by appointment only.

Weaver Medical Care accepts all insurances and self-pay options. Patients must be five years or older.
