Local business Nivel Manufacturing reports that they have been expanding rapidly and they’re looking for additional employees.
Nivel human resource specialist Chelsie Cosby says the Cairo manufacturer currently has nearly 20 open positions from entry level to more skilled positions, including sewing machine operators and machinists.
“We understand that some people may not have the experience needed, and we’re willing to train the right candidates,” says Ms. Cosby.
To fill the positions, Nivel is hosting a career fair on Saturday, May 1. “We know that a career fair on a Saturday is unusual, but we wanted to take some time to give interested candidates the full experience of what it’s like working for Nivel, so we have a lot of exciting things planned for attendees,” Cosby said, “We are calling the event ‘Hot Dogs for Hot Jobs’, because we intend to serve hot dogs and chili dogs courtesy of Dog World to anyone who applies with us during the career fair.”
The career fair will take place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The agenda includes facility tours, round tables with current employees, onsite applications and interviews, and a free lunch for anyone who applies the day of the event, according to Cosby.
“This event will allow applicants the opportunity to speak with current employees in positions that they may be interested in,” Cosby said. “I tell every candidate that I speak with that we expect a lot from our employees, but that’s a two-way street. I want them to expect a lot from us, as well. We want to be a leading employer in Grady County.”
Interested candidates can RSVP by calling Chelsie Cosby at (904) 301-0180. She says making a reservation in advance is preferred to ensure social distancing measures and to make accommodations for all attendees.
