A former jailer at the Grady Detention Center was arrested Monday on charges of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
Seth Adam Matthews, 20, of Ochlocknee, is also charged with violation of oath by public official. Matthews was still a jailer at the local jail when he was arrested earlier this week. Information from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation states the Grady County Sheriff’s Office has since fired Matthews, who was booked into the Thomas County Jail.
The Grady County Sheriff’s Office asked the G.B.I. on Tuesday, April 13, to assist in an investigation into allegations of inappropriate contact between Matthews and an underage girl on a social media site.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, according to the G.B.I.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the G.B.I. at (229) 225-4090.
According to Michael Callahan, assistant special agent in charge with the G.B.I.’s Thomasville office, tips may also be submitted by calling 1(800) 597-TIPS (8477) or by downloading the mobile app, See Something, Send Something.
