Monai Denise Boles
A Cairo woman reported missing late Thursday was found safe and sound two days later in Tallahassee. Tallahassee Police located 33-year-old Monai Denise Boles Saturday afternoon.
Cairo Police Chief Giovannie Santos says Ms. Boles was apparently “trying to get to Miami, Florida to visit with her father.”
Her mother reported Boles missing to Cairo Police Thursday evening saying she had last seen her on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 6 p.m.
The mother told police she was concerned because Boles had left her purse and other belongings that she normally carries with her at her home in Cairo. Authorities said Boles suffers from mental issues and was in need of her medications, also left behind in her home.
Her mother told police that she had searched places around Cairo where her daughter normally visits, but did not locate her.
A lookout was issued for Boles Thursday night, and she was found Saturday.
After talking with her, officers suspect Boles sought shelter at the Greyhound bus station in Tallahassee while she was gone, Chief Santos says. It is unclear how Boles got to Tallahassee, though.
