Cairo native Greg Eiford has been named chief executive officer of TC Federal Bank in Thomasville. Eiford replaces Matt Brown who is retiring Dec. 31 after a 45-year banking career. Eiford has been with the bank since 2008, and was named its president last year.
Stephanie B. Tillman, chairman of the bank’s board of directors, stated, “We feel confident in Greg’s ability to guide the organization going forward. He is committed to delivering results and enhancing the operations of the bank. He is a proven leader and will continue to be a strategic and operational catalyst for the organization as we transition from a mutual to a stock-based financial institution. With this appointment, Greg will join our board to serve as a director.”
Commenting on the retirement of Matt Brown, Tillman said, “We are deeply grateful to Matt for his wisdom, leadership and dedication to TCF. We are pleased he will continue to remain on the board of directors.”
Eiford stated, “This is an exciting time in the 86-year history of the bank. Matt’s leadership the past two years has been pivotal in a shift of culture and operations for the bank. The management team is looking forward to future successes in the coming years as we seek to continue to enrich the communities where we live and serve.”
Prior to banking, Eiford worked as a project engineer in the automotive industry then became a licensed residential contractor. He and his wife, the former Laura Pridgen, purchased Rayann’s Christian Bookstore, a downtown Thomasville business, in 2002. They have resided in Thomas County for the last 16 years. The Eifords have three children, Hayes and wife Kayla, Walker, and Eliza.
TC Federal Bank was established in Thomasville in 1934. What began as a Savings & Loan by the citizens of Thomas County during the Great Depression, TC Federal Bank has grown into a $347 million dollar community bank that operates full-service banks in Thomasville and Tallahassee and a commercial lending office in Savannah.
