ANGEL FUNES, left, and Bugien Gonzales were busy working on drywall for the new “hospitality room” at the Grady Cultural Center. Renovations at the facility are now underway and will include refurbishment of the facility’s restrooms, according to Cairo city manager Chris Addleton.
Work is now underway at the Grady Cultural Center on what Cairo city manager Chris Addleton says are much needed upgrades to the popular venue for special events.
According to Addleton, the facility’s restrooms are being refurbished and a new “hospitality room” is being constructed in a section of what was previously used as a storage area.
The new “hospitality room” is needed, Addleton says, to make the facility more user friendly for such events as weddings and concerts.
The city manager said it will provide a space for VIPs to gather or for wedding parties to have a place to make last minute preparations or for bands performing to have a place to go during intermission as well as pre- and post-show.
Precision Building and Remodeling LLC of Cairo is the contractor on the renovation project.
