Grady County Sheriff Harry Young is home resting after spending five days in the hospital for treatment of symptoms of COVID-19.
Sheriff Young was released from Grady General Hospital on Saturday afternoon, according to Capt. Daniel Singletary who has been overseeing operations of the sheriff’s office in Young’s absence. The sheriff was hospitalized on Monday, Sept. 14, and had tested positive for the disease caused by the novel virus.
Singletary says Sheriff Young will remain under quarantine through Monday, Sept. 28.
The Grady County Sheriff’s Office remains closed to the public through the end of this week as a precaution. The office is continuing to operate during the two-week closure.
