Mule Day cancelled due to virus
Officials with the Calvary Lions Club announced this week that there will be no Mule Day this year.
“The Calvary Lions Club is sad to announce the cancellation of Mule Day 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” stated Edie Harrison, club president. “Based on our concerns for everyone’s safety and on the advice of the Grady County Health Department and the Grady County EMA director, we felt that this would be the right thing to do. We look forward to planning for 2021.”
Except for its forced cancellation in 2018 due to Hurricane Michael, the festival has been held annually for nearly 50 years to raise money for the Calvary Lions Club so it can fund international and local charitable works.
