Friday night May 22 had long been planned as graduation night for the Cairo High School Class of 2020. That also meant that today, Wednesday, May 20, was the date planned long ago for the debut of the 2020 edition of The Cairo Messenger’s Red & Black graduation special section.
However, a global pandemic was not planned for and schedules have had to change. Watch for our special feature on the Class of 2020 in our May 27 edition. Additional copies will be available for those who would like extra copies for keepsakes.
“We are very proud of this year’s special section. Having to work split shifts and reduced hours, maintaining social distancing and offering only curbside service for the last several weeks has been a challenge for all of us. Our team really pulled together and I believe we produced our best Red and Black edition ever. Thanks to the support of our local merchants and families of the graduating seniors, you made it all possible!” said Messenger Editor Randolph H. Wind.
