ALTHOUGH SEATS WERE EMPTY in the Cairo High School auditorium, Honor’s Night still served as a special recognition event for award and scholarship recipients in this year’s graduating class. They weren’t there in person, but seniors were able to watch with their families as the ceremony was streamed live on the internet.
Cairo High School recognized their top seniors with a traditional Honor’s Night ceremony Thursday, although it was held in a nontraditional manner in the age of coronavirus. The virtual event took place in the high school auditorium, as usual, but the 980-seat venue was all but empty with only school system officials on hand to make the announcements. Families and the general public were able to watch the proceedings live on Facebook as they happened.
