The Grady County board of commissioners postponed its meeting originally scheduled to be held Tuesday evening. J.C. (Buddy) Johnson III, county administrator, said a decision on a rescheduled meeting date will likely be announced Friday.
Topping the agenda items to be considered is the acceptance or rejection of a paving bid for State Park Road.
According to Johnson, the county’s consulting engineer, Stacy Watkins, has made a recommendation to accept the bid of $485,015.85 from The Scruggs Company of Valdosta. The two other bids received were $606,550.10 from Oxford Construction Company of Albany and $1,146,292.50 from Capital Asphalt of Tallahassee.
The bids were opened on March 5 and Watkins issued his recommendation on March 6. If the bid is accepted, work must be completed within 120 days.
Commissioners are also expected to take action on whether or not to issue a request for qualifications for a third party administrator to evaluate and manage the employee benefit program for the county.
Also on the tentative agenda is a closed session with attorney Gabe Ridley to discuss a real estate matter as well as a personnel issue.
