A Grady County woman was arrested early in the morning Monday and charged in the stabbing of her live-in boyfriend. Josie Harvey, 22, Whigham, allegedly used a steak knife in the incident, which happened at about 11 p.m. Sunday.
Grady County Sheriff’s Investigator Abby Hall says Harvey and her boyfriend, Kenneth Holton Jr., 37, were arguing about her pregnant friend who was visiting at the house they shared on Springhill Road. Hall says Holton told Harvey that if her friend was going to harm her unborn child by drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes, she should leave.
At one point during an ensuing verbal altercation, Holton walked away, Hall says, but Harvey followed. Holton stopped, then turned to walk away again, and that is when Harvey allegedly stabbed him under his right armpit towards his back.
Harvey fled the scene with her friend, according to Hall, and Holton called 911. He was taken by ambulance to Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville and Harvey was later located at her friend’s home and taken into custody.
Harvey is charged with felony aggravated assault under the family violence act. The weapon used in the stabbing has not been recovered by authorities as the investigation continues.
