Rachel Barton Pine
Cairo High School’s chorus will perform Friday evening as guest artists during an Arts-in-the-Heart Concert Series in Tallahassee. Internationally renowned virtuoso violinist Rachel Barton Pine is the concert’s feature artist. Pine will be accompanied by pianist, Matthew Hagle and the Javacya Elite Chamber Orchestra, the premier ensemble of the Javacya Arts Conservatory.
The concert will take place Friday beginning at 7:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral, 4784 Thomasville Rd., Tallahassee. Tickets are $45 and may be purchased at javacyaarts.com/rachel-barton-pine/
Pine, a Billboard-chart topping violinist, is celebrated as a leading interpreter of great classical and contemporary works.
In addition to the C.H.S. Chorus, which is under the direction of Erikka Edwards, other special guests will include the Florida A & M University Concert Choir (Dr. Mark Butler, director), and the St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral Choir (Chris Garven, music director).
The Arts-In-The Heart Concert Series, in partnership with St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral, not only provides wonderful evenings of excellence in musical performance, but also gives opportunities for young musicians to play with established performers and grow in their musical pursuits.
Based in Tallahassee, the Javacya Arts Conservatory is dedicated to diversity in the arts. Concert proceeds will benefit Javacya’s 100 percent tuition free orchestra training at the Javacya Arts Conservatory.
