A former Grady County resident has returned to his hometown where relatives are helping him recover from second degree burns he endured in a grease fire earlier this month.
Jeffrey Robinson, 39, was at his home in Blountstown, Fla., when the fire happened on Dec. 2, according to his grandfather, Raymond Brown of Whigham.
Robinson says he suffered burns to both feet and hands and his right leg and had to be taken by life flight to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla., where he was treated for more than a week.
Robinson was moved from the hospital to his grandparents’ home on Thursday. He said due to his injuries, he is not allowed to be alone, and he is glad to be recuperating in Whigham where he is surrounded by so many family members and friends.
