Drug Free Grady is hosting and inviting all Grady County citizens of any age to attend the Community Red Ribbon Rally Monday. Cairo native and former college and NFL football player Christopher Sheffield is the featured speaker at the rally.
“He has a great message and would like everyone to come and hear it,” says Nola Daughtry, executive director of Grady County Family Connection. Sheffield was quarterback for Cairo High School in the early 1980s, went on to play for Albany State College, then the Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions.
The community rally to kick off the celebration of Red Ribbon Week here will be held at Family Worship Center in Cairo on Monday, Oct. 21, 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
