Cairo Police are asking for the public’s assistance in helping them solve an armed robbery that happened over the weekend as two restaurant employees closed for the night. The workers were leaving Domino’s Pizza, 550 U.S. 84E, just after 1 a.m. Sunday when the incident occurred.
A man wearing a covering over his face and dark colored clothing walked up to the employees in the parking lot and demanded money. He was armed with an unknown type of rifle, according to Cairo Police. The employees complied with the robber’s demand and he fled on foot with the money. Cairo Police have not released the amount taken. No one was injured in the robbery.
Law enforcement officers searched the area, but the perpetrator was not found. He is described as African American, approximately 20-30 years old, with short hair.
Anyone with information that could assist with the investigation is asked to contact the Cairo Police Department, (229) 378-3096.
