A CHECK for $11,761 from the Atlanta Braves was received in the mail for the Jackie Robinson Boys & Girls Club of Cairo/Grady County recently. Pictured holding the donation is JRBGC director, Stephen Francis.
Thanks to the Atlanta Braves Foundation and team fans the Jackie Robinson Boys & Girls Club of Cairo and Grady County has received a donation of nearly $12,000. The Atlanta Braves hosted the local Boys & Girls Club during the Mets series on April 13, 2019.
During the Braves’ home games April 13-14, tickets for the foundation’s 50/50 Raffle were sold. One ticket holder won half of the proceeds, and the other half went to the foundation for its charitable work.
The foundation donated its half of the $23,522 in ticket sales to JRBGC, according to Stephen Francis, club director. A check for $11,761 arrived in the mail last week, Francis says.
“We would like to thank the entire Atlanta Braves Organization for their kindness and generosity towards our club and community. The relationship that is being built between the Atlanta Braves and our Jackie Robinson Boys & Girls Club is certainly life changing,” says Francis.
