DR. NOEMI LEFRANC is a physician who will begin working in Cairo next week. She is pictured here with her husband, Daniel Matta, and their two goldendoodle “fur babies” Luna and Stella.
A new OB/GYN is joining the team of doctors and nurses at Cairo Medical Care and will begin seeing patients next week. Dr. Noemi LeFranc is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and a 2012 graduate of the Florida State University College of Medicine.
Dr. LeFranc conducted her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Bayfront Health Saint Petersburg in Saint Petersburg, Fla., 2012-2016.
For the last three years, LeFranc has worked in Maine, first at Western Maine Obstetrics and Gynecology and then for the last few weeks as a temporary physician (Comp Health Locum Tenens) at Swift River HealthCare/Rumford Hospital, also in Maine.
Also during this time, she worked as a clinical assistant professor at Tufts University School of Medicine.
“I am looking forward to working at Cairo Medical Care. I was previously working in a rural community in Maine and I love the neighborly feel of a small town,” says Dr. LeFranc. “I am originally from Tallahassee, but was born at Archbold (Memorial Hospital) where my father has worked since before that time, and where my husband, Daniel, is working now, as well. My parents and sister live in Tallahassee, as well.”
Dr. Zita Magloire, CEO of Cairo Medical Care, says the medical practice staff members are looking forward to Dr. LeFranc coming on board. “She is an experienced OBGYN who will offer a full range of gynecological services in addition to providing obstetrical care for the patients in Grady and surrounding counties,” Dr. Magloire says.
Dr. LeFranc says she is excited to work in Grady County and looks forward to getting to know the people here. “I am also fluent in Spanish, so I hope to be an asset for the large Spanish speaking community,” Dr. LeFranc says.
She is married to Daniel Matta, and says she enjoys family, exercising, hiking, dancing, traveling and cooking.
Dr. LeFranc joins Cairo Medical Care on Thursday, Aug. 8.
