The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested a former Grady County man on more than 30 charges related to child molestation. Lloyd Demetrio Aiello, 50, was taken into custody in Winder/Barrow County last week and booked in the Grady Detention Center on Thursday, July 18.
The charges against Aiello stem from incidents that took place when he lived in Grady County according to the GBI’s Jamy Steinberg, Special Agent in Charge.
Currently, agents have identified one victim, but Steinberg says the investigation is ongoing. “We are going through digital evidence from various devices,” Steinberg reports. “This will be an in-depth investigation. It’s not just an open and shut case.”
Steinberg says the suspect had been living most recently in Cleveland, Ga., but was in Barrow County at the time of his arrest. As investigators look into Aiello’s time in Grady County, they have discovered that at one point he worked for the Whigham Police Department, according to Steinberg.
Aiello is being held at Grady Detention Center on 15 charges of child molestation/aggravated child molestation; 10 charges of incest; five charges of aggravated sexual battery and two charges of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
