THE NEWLY RENOVATED children’s section of the library is a popular spot this summer. The Library Board of Trustees is hosting an open house to be held next Thursday, July 11.

Roddenbery Memorial Library is holding an Open House for the community to see the renovated facility and also to honor retired director Pamela Grigg.
The Open House and Retirement Reception are scheduled to take place next week, on Thursday, July 11, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
For the last year, RML has undergone a $2.4 million renovation to modernize and update the public facility. In addition to a $2 million capital grant from the state, the library also received a $600,000 bequest from the estates of Joyce M. and Frank L. Pickens.
While under renovation, the library continued to operate out of nearby out buildings. The library closed for approximately one week to move back into the newly revamped building and reopened to the public on April 11, although there were still some minor details waiting to be completed.
Grigg was still director of the library at that time, but retired quietly on May 17. The library is currently operating under the leadership of interim director Janet Boudet.
To show their appreciation for Grigg, members of the library’s Board of Trustees are holding the retirement reception in conjunction with the library’s Open House.
