WHIGHAM COMMUNITY CLUB members will host a dedication service for their new clubhouse this Saturday afternoon.
Members of the Whigham Community Club are hosting a dedication and open house of their new clubhouse this Saturday and everyone is invited to attend.
The new 5,000 square foot facility, located at 267 East Broad Ave./U.S. Hwy. 84, on the Rattlesnake Roundup grounds east of Whigham will not only serve as the meeting spot for the club, but also as a rental facility for class reunions, family reunions and celebrations of birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, and more.
A building dedication ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday to be followed by an open house from 3 p.m.until 4 p.m.
The original clubhouse, located on Highway 179 South, was built in the late 1950s and was sold by the club to Ann Hopkins, who operates an after-school and summer program as an offshoot of her Auntie Ann’s Daycare.
Since the sale of its original clubhouse, the club has been holding its first and third Monday night meetings at the Boy Scout House, which is located next door to the new facility.
