HANNA HESTER graduated from Cairo High Friday and is one of the newest employees at Nivel in Cairo.
Hanna Hester has been a high school graduate for less than one week and she is already gainfully employed at new local manufacturer Nivel.
Michelle Ausley, CTAE department chair and career counselor at Cairo High School’s College and Career Academy, says Hester attended the Nivel Job Fair on May 7, completed an online application and was interviewed on the spot. “A week later she was offered a position with Nivel. Nivel will be starting their new employees anywhere from $12.50 to $15.50 an hour with opportunity for training, promotions and raises,” Ausley states.
Hester was hired for a position in the bending department where she measures and cuts the windshields for the golf carts Nivel manufactures. Hester said she discovered quickly, “you really do need geometry in the real world from measurements to angles . . . I really like the department because it comes with patience and concentration.”
Brittany Rhodes, manager with Nivel who was transferred to the Cairo division, said, “Nivel’s decision to move three manufacturing companies into one building and making them one was an excellent idea. We strive for positive attitudes, and to make all our new hires feel welcomed and comfortable with our one on one hands on training.”
