A love offering collected during Holy Week services hosted by the Grady Ministerial Association was presented to the Grady County Help Agency this week to benefit victims of the March 3 tornado that struck Cairo.
A check for $1,453 was presented by pastors with the Ministerial Association to Help Agency volunteers on Monday.
The Ministerial Association was one of the driving forces behind the creation of the Help Agency in 1984. Ministers say it is only fitting that the association partner with the Help Agency in meeting the needs of victims of the storm.
“All pastors greatly appreciate the generosity expressed and contributions to this great need,” said Cairo First United Methodist Church minister the Rev. Christy Bandy.
To date, the Help Agency has assisted 39 families who were affected by the March 3 tornado.
