The community is invited to attend the first official event held in the newly renovated Roddenbery Memorial Library Thursday. The library is joining up with the Cairo-Grady County Chamber of Commerce and Bryan Gainous State Farm to host Business After Hours, 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
In addition to refreshments, Invicta Duo will serve up musical performances in the auditorium. The group features violinist Taylor Giorgio and trombonist Kenneth Johnson, who are studying to receive their Doctorates of Music from Florida State University. Both musicians serve as graduate teaching assistants and have performed with orchestras such as the Tallahassee Symphony, Ocala Symphony, Valdosta Symphony, Albany Symphony, Sinfonia Gulf Coast, and the Gainesville Orchestra.
Both have bachelor’s degrees in Music Education from West Virginia University, where the duo originally formed. Following their time in West Virginia they went on to receive master’s degrees in Music Performance; Kenneth from Indiana University, and Taylor from Florida State University, before rejoining at Florida State University to complete their studies.
