State system changes will force closure of tax office prior to Memorial Day

Grady County Tax Commissioner Barbara Darus briefed the Grady County Commission on the upcoming closing of her office prior to Memorial Day as the State of Georgia transitions to a new software program for the Department of Motor Vehicles.

According to the tax commissioner, her office will close at noon on Thursday, May 23 and the office will remain closed until 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

“I’m just providing you advance notice. They are doing this statewide the Thursday and Friday prior to Memorial Day. I’m trying to get the message out and I apologize in advance for any inconvenience it may cause,” Tax Commissioner Darus said.
