Plans are now being made for a unique fundraiser to benefit the Grady County Museum and History Center.
The museum suffered roof damage from Hurricane Michael and the Grady County Historical Society is doubling its efforts to raise funds not only to finance building repairs but also to maintain and operate the downtown county museum.
A “Tastings of Yesteryear” event is being planned for Thursday evening, April 18. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the museum and will conclude at 8 p.m. Only 200 tickets will be sold and they are now available for $25 each.
Popular items from throughout the county’s history will be served. Participants can stop by at their leisure and enjoy the samplings and fellowship. The attire for the affair will be casual.
“Lots of food will be prepared by some of Grady County’s best cooks. It promises to be an enjoyable evening, and you will not leave this event hungry,” said organizer Yvonne Childs.
Tickets can be purchased from members of the Historical Society or at the museum. You may also call the museum at 229-377-5142, Linda Stringer, 229-226-7785, or Yvonne Childs, 229-377-1275 to place an order for tickets.
